Up and running!

Wow… I  am finally about to take the leap into the wonderful world of systems theory – something I’ve been planning for a long while now…  I’ve been jotting stuff down in my notebooks and sketchbooks for ages about how I would launch this new portal.

I never really had time to get the ball rolling until the christmas break, when I finally got a week off work. I wanted to set up a new, clean blog and decided to go with the latest version of Wordpress – well that started a whole chain-reaction of upgrades…

So on christmas eve I spent most of the day upgrading mysql and php (thankfully don’t need an upgrade of apache yet) and found that my old mysql client wouldn’t cut the rug anymore and finally installed phpmyadmin. _Then_ I installed the new wp, ported my data across… blah blah blah. Then I had to hunt for this WP theme, tweak to taste and upload it all to my server.

But here I am! I can’t wait to get going on some of the topics I’ve been fascinated with since… I dunno… an early age. Let’s roll!
